Nobody likes to hear that they need a root canal, but if you do, you couldn't be in better hands than Dr. Rich's. It's not uncommon for patients to have anxiety about a new procedure, especially one that so often gets a bad rap, like endodontic therapy. After all, everybody's heard a horror story from a friend who had one done... right?
Not At Lakewood Dental Trails!
Our dental team is committed to making every effort possible to keep you comfortable - not just pain-free, but relaxed and at ease. We want every experience that you have with our Temple dentist to be a great one, even when you need a root canal.
What's To Be Afraid Of?
The #1 fear of most patients who need a root canal is pain. With our gentle touch and effective local anesthetic, it's likely that the worst pain you'll experience is the discomfort you've already had from your infected tooth.
When it's time to get started, Dr. Rick will thoroughly numb the area. If you're feeling a little anxious, we offer a variety of sedation options to help you relax and ease your worries. Once you're comfortable, your root canal can be completed in just a few steps:
- Creating an opening to remove the diseased nerve
- Cleaning and sanitizing the chambers inside of your tooth
- Sealing off the nerve canal to prevent further infection
And that's it! Most times, a dental crown is needed to cover and protect your tooth after root canal therapy. Dr. Rich can advise you about which option is best for your smile. Call today!
